Step 3.) While still holding ends with your left hand, twist tighter until you feel as though the twist is secure and tight. Your ends should be "sticking" out of the top.

Step 4.) With your right hand, fold the ends down toward your nape, under the twist

Step 5.) Use your left hand to hold the twist in place while you pin with bobby pins. Pins should be far enough in so you don't see them and facing in a upward effect. Secure with enough pins until it feels tight enough. Finish with a good holding spray
  • You can skip step 3 above and leave ends out. The ends can either be curled or left straight and spiky to create a more casual effect.
Additional Options for French Twists:
Step 1.) Comb or brush your hair smoothly back from your forehead and gather hair at the nape, slightly to the left, as if you were going to put a low ponytail in. Hold hair about 3 inches from ends. I recommend using a product like Citre' Shine Styler Glossing Wax, to give you added shine while controlling those stray hair.

How to Updo Styles ...
Step 2.)  Twist the hair to the right while lifting it so the ends are pointing up and you are creating a roll effect or twist, in the back of head.
Create the perfect updo hair style for prom, your wedding, any occasion!! Just follow the simple updo how to hair style instructions below.
  • If you want a "puffed" effect in the front, tease the top front of your pair before you pull it back into the low ponytail. After you create the twist and before you pin, gently pull forward the top part of your hair and secure as normal. If the puff is not shaped as you want it, you can add additional bobby pins to change the shape.

  • Use hair ornaments to dress up the twist

  • You can also achieve a half up/half down French twist by leaving the back of your hair down
  • A French twist for hard to hold ,thick or short hair - Comb hair smooth. Comb the right side of your hair to the back as if you were going to put only half your head of hair up (like that 80's style everyone wore). Next, hold that hair flat to your head so all the hair stands are pointing directly left. Start to pin starting from nape pointing the pins toward the top of your head. When all hair is secure enough for you to let go, take all the hair, that should be left side of your head, and follow steps 2-5 above

  • You can add a part in the front of your hair by either creating one before you start or leaving 2"s back and 2"s sideways, out of the twist then comb that section of hair to the desired side and pin with a barrette.
