The newest trend in ombre hair coloring is ombre highlights. We’re seeing this all over the celeb scene and it’s slowly replacing the all over ombre look. This type of hair highlighting consists of framing around the face with undefined chunks of lighter hair. And adding blended chunks of lighter piece through the hair where we don’t typically think of highlighting such as underneath and throughout the back of hair. The great thing about this trend is there are no limits of what colors you can use.
Do the ombre highlighting effect right:
Frame the face: when adding ombre highlights around the face, you can go higher with the lighter color than you typically would. Normally with the ombre effect, you would stay about 3 or more inches away from the root. However when doing around the face, bring the lighter hair almost up to the root or stay within an inch or 2. This way your hair color still looks great when you pull your hair up and away from the face.
Radom ombre chunks: We’re seeing a lot of just the underneath highlighted this way. Random chunks of hair are lightened through the sides and back of hair. This is a great method to add some funky colors to the hair without it being over the top.
Highlighting your hair using the ombre method is a super cost effective way to add depth to your hair color without spending big bucks to touch up the roots. You can keep these highlights as long as you want without touching up the roots. And when you’re ready for a new look, just cover over with a new hair color.
