What is ombre hair coloring? The term was first inspired from the French hair coloring trend featuring darker roots and lighter ends.

Ombre has come a long way since entering the hair scene a few years back. When we first saw ombre hair trends on celebs, the colors were much harsher than they are now. Gone are the jet black roots that go directly into blunt looking lighter ends. Now we’re seeing a softer side of the hair coloring technique.
The true ombre look is not to look as if you need a color job. But to look as if it’s intentional. Here’ how to wear the trend right:
1.Don’t go too high with the lighter color. What does this mean? The lightest part of your hair shouldn’t be above the ears all around the head. The lower you go lighter, the more intentional it looks.

2.Keep the line blended not blunt. It shouldn’t look as if you stuck a bowl on your head and colored below the rim! The hair color should be feathered into the next color.

3.Think how your hair falls. Frame the face the gradually allowing the lighter to get lower as you turn your head.

4.Going drastic? If you have dark brown/black roots and want bleached out ends, thinks about having a third color separating the two. Think of it this way: 3 inches dark brown, fading into 1 inch lighter brow then fading into the lightest blonde ends.

5.Think about doing ombre highlights instead. This seems to be the newest part of the ombre trend.
